At the highest levels of sport, performance is rarely about one dramatic breakthrough. It is about stacking small, repeatable advantages that compound over time. Few athletes understand that better than Trevor Baptiste, who competes year-round in the Premier Lacrosse League with the New York Atlas, in the National Lacrosse League with the San Diego Seals, and on the United States Men's National Lacrosse Team.
That level of consistency demands durability. And for Trevor, durability was being quietly undermined by chronic turf toe.
When Turf Toe Becomes the Baseline
Before Blumaka, turf toe was not an occasional setback. It was constant.
“I thought turf toe was something I’d deal with forever,” Trevor says.
It affected everything, from high-intensity training to something as simple as getting out of bed in the morning. Like most elite athletes, Trevor did what he was supposed to do. He committed to physical therapy and continues to do so today. That work helped manage symptoms, but it only brought him back to neutral.
Neutral felt like the ceiling.
Carbon Elite: Protection Without Restriction
The real turning point came when Trevor added the Carbon Elite.
“The Carbon Elite took pressure off my turf toe immediately,” he explains.
While many carbon plates are simply stiff, the Carbon Elite is designed to be directionally flexible. It limits excessive toe bend in the direction that aggravates turf toe, while still allowing natural movement and energy flow in the opposite direction. That balance is critical. It protects the joint during explosive moments without making the foot feel locked or robotic.
For an athlete whose game depends on leverage, reaction, and feel, that distinction matters. Trevor could move normally, cut hard, and generate force without constantly compensating for pain.
For the first time in years, turf toe stopped dictating how he trained and competed.
But solving the injury itself was only part of the equation.

NonSlip: Stability That Changed Everything
Once the Carbon Elite addressed the turf toe, the NonSlip technology unlocked the full performance benefit.
“Finding Blumaka was a turning point in my career,” Trevor says. “The NonSlip changed how secure I feel in my shoes.”
Before Blumaka, Trevor wore shoes that were too small just to avoid sliding. That constant toe jamming only made the turf toe worse over time. With NonSlip locking his foot in place, he could finally wear his true shoe size and still feel fully connected to the ground.
“I finally wear my true shoe size and still feel locked in.”

The difference showed up immediately. During change-of-direction drills, his foot stayed planted instead of sliding forward. There was no sensation of his toes slamming into the front of the shoe. Everything felt more controlled, more repeatable.
“Before I even put them in my shoes, I stood on them and felt my foot not move at all,” he says. “Then in the first workout, everything just felt more stable.”
Together, Carbon Elite and NonSlip did more than reduce pain. They changed how force moved through his body. Less slipping created better stability. Better stability reduced stress on the toe. Over time, those small improvements compounded into what every professional athlete is chasing.
“I genuinely feel like I can play longer because of this.”
At the professional level, longevity is performance. And for athletes trying to reach the next level, the lesson is clear: small decisions made early, especially underfoot, can shape how long and how well you play the game.
