Non slip insoles

Non slip insoles stop your foot sliding inside the shoe

Your shoe grips the ground. Nothing grips your foot. So it slides forward when you stop, sideways when you cut, and up at the heel when you push off. A non slip insole fixes that.

Blumaka NonSlip Performance Insoles
The short answer

A non slip insole swaps in for the one your shoe came with and has a grippy top that holds your sock in place. Your foot and your shoe move together. Ours is the NonSlip Performance Insole, in Max Cushion or Low Profile and three arch heights.

Why your foot slides

Most insoles have a smooth fabric top. Your sock slides right across it. On a hard stop your foot keeps going for a split second after the shoe has stopped.

You feel it as toes jamming into the front, a heel that lifts, or a foot that shifts on every cut. Over a long game or a long shift, that adds up.

Our NonSlip top grips your sock instead. Less sliding means more control every time you stop, cut or push off.

What people try first

Lacing tighter. It pins the top of your foot, but the bottom still slides on the insole, and it gets uncomfortable fast.

Grip socks. They help, but you need them every time, and they're still sitting on a smooth insole.

Heel grips and pads. They hold one spot. The front of your foot can still slide.

A thicker insole. It takes up space so the fit feels tighter, but the surface is still smooth.

A non slip insole grips under your whole foot, with whatever sock you wear. More in our post on non slip insoles vs grip socks.

Where feet slide the most

Court sports

Pickleball, tennis, volleyball and basketball. Hard stops and side-to-side cuts. See the pickleball guide.

Cleats

Soccer, football, lacrosse and baseball. Low Profile fits snug cleats and holds your foot when you plant and drive.

Running and hiking

On downhills your foot slides toward the toe box. A grippy top keeps it back where you laced it.

Work and everyday shoes

If your heel lifts or your foot shifts over a long day on your feet, the same grip helps.

Questions we get a lot

What are non slip insoles?
Insoles with a grippy top that holds your sock, so your foot stops sliding inside the shoe. They replace the insole your shoe came with.
Do non slip insoles work?
In independent biomechanical performance testing of Blumaka insoles, 80% of athletes stopped faster, 80% started faster and 80% increased lower-body stability. See the full data.
Why do my feet slide forward in my shoes?
Your shoe grips the ground but nothing grips your foot. On a hard stop or a downhill, your foot keeps moving across a smooth insole. More in why feet slide inside shoes.
Are non slip insoles better than grip socks?
Grip socks still sit on a smooth insole, and you need them every time. A non slip insole grips any sock you put on.
Max Cushion or Low Profile?
Low Profile for snug shoes like cleats, racing flats and tight court shoes. Max Cushion for shoes with more room, like basketball, pickleball, tennis, training and running shoes. If you're between the two, Max Cushion. A few customers with slim shoes found Max Cushion too thick, so if yours are already tight, go Low Profile.
Will they fit my shoes?
They fit 97% of shoes. Pull out the old insole and drop ours in. Trim only if you need to, using the old insole as a guide. A trimmed pair can't be returned, so check the fit first.
How long do they last?
They're backed by a 1,000-mile cushioning guarantee, and you get 90 days to try them, even if worn. See how long insoles last.
